About The School
Holice Powell was built in 1950 to serve the southern portion of Dyer County, in the unincorporated area of Fowlkes. The school was named in honor of Mr. Holice Powell, a former Superintendent of Dyer County Schools, who passed away prior to the opening of the school. The Dedication Ceremony was held on July 7, 1952, with then Governor Gordon Browning presiding.
