LOCAL STUDENTS RAISE OVER 20,000 CANNED GOOD ITEMS
15th Annual Reason for the Season Food Drive to benefit Local Organizations
Dyersburg and Dyer County students collected canned goods in November and December for the 15th Annual Reason for the Season Food Drive to benefit local relief effort organizations: Salvation Army, Matthew 25:40, the Reverend George Butter Memorial Food Pantry, and Reelfoot Rural Ministries.
The staff of Burks Beverage, Burks Broadcasting, Security Bank, Kirk Nissan, and Consolidated Grain & Barge [along with organization leaders & volunteers] picked up items that were collected from 8 Dyersburg & Dyer County Schools. The 20,000 canned good items were divided between this year’s benefactor organizations: Reelfoot Rural Ministries, Salvation Army, Matthew 25:40, and the Reverend George Butter Memorial Food Pantry.
We appreciate the continued support of local sponsors: Alvino’s Pizza, Burks Beverage & Broadcasting, Consolidated Grain & Barge, Java Café/Green Frog Coffee Co, Kirk Nissan, Security Bank, Shelter Insurance – Jessica Harrison.

We consider it a privilege to facilitate this goodwill promotion for our students to see first-hand the value and impact of giving back to help others in need.”
